We offer a range of lighting design services tailored to your needs, whether you're building a kitchen extension or transforming an entire property. We’re always happy to discuss your ideas and explore what’s possible for your space. Below you’ll find an overview of the key stages involved in a lighting design project and what you can expect from our full service.
Enquiry & Brief
After you reach out to us, we’ll start with an informal conversation to get a sense of what you need. We’ll then arrange a video call to outline how we can help you.
When need it, we can also visit the site to look at the space in person and gain a clearer picture of the project.
From there, we’ll gather all relevant details, your preferences, goals and any practical requirements, so we fully understand the direction you want to take and the level of support you’re seeking.
Once we have everything we need, we’ll put together a personalised proposal and cost estimate for your project.
Concept
At this stage, we define the creative direction for your lighting scheme.
After reviewing your brief and understanding how you use the space, we explore a range of lighting ideas: from overall ambience and atmosphere to feature moments, technical considerations, control options and how light interacts with materials, architecture and furniture. We also curate visual references so you can clearly imagine the proposed lighting mood.
We will then share the concept with you, talk through it and listen to your feedback. Any adjustments needed will be made to ensure the concept aligns perfectly with your vision. Once you’re happy with the direction, we’ll move into the Detailed Design phase.
Detailed Design
Transforming the agreed concept into a fully resolved lighting design is a collaborative process between us and you.
At this stage, we prepare detailed technical documentation including lighting layouts, circuiting plans, lighting calculations, control strategies, details and visualisations where helpful. We also present lighting samples and finishes so we can show you the products that will achieve the desired atmosphere and performance.
If the project requires it, we can also design bespoke decorative lighting elements tailored specifically to your space.
On-site Coordination
We’ll meet with you to review the lighting schedule and provide ongoing support throughout the installation phase.
We work closely with your contractor and electrical team, carrying out regular site visits to ensure the lighting is being installed as intended.
When needed, we can also coordinate deliveries, liaise with specialist suppliers and oversee any technical requirements to keep the project running smoothly.
A friendly (but important!) warning:
Lighting isn’t something to add at the end. It’s not just choosing a beautiful luminaire, it’s about placing the right light in the right place, with the correct wiring and controls behind it.
To achieve this, lighting design must begin early, before plumbing, flooring or wall finishes are finalised. This ensures all cables, drivers, and electrical points are correctly coordinated from the start, avoiding costly changes later. Think of lighting as the backbone of your space, not an afterthought.
