STAGE 1 — BRIEF

Once we receive an enquiry, we begin by speaking with the client to understand the vision. From there, we dive into the brief, the architecture, and the people who will use the space, how they move, behave and experience it. This foundation guides every decision that follows.

STAGE 2 — CONCEPT

From this foundation, we craft an initial conceptual lighting strategy: sketches, mood studies, and early layout ideas that communicate intent. The concept package is reviewed together with the client and design team before moving forward.

STAGE 3 — SPACIAL COORDINATION

Once the concept is agreed, we refine it into a coordinated lighting scheme. This includes technical layouts, preliminary luminaire selections, outline budgets, integration notes, and any requirements for bespoke or built-in lighting elements. The design development package provides clarity for coordination and tender and is reviewed collaboratively with the wider team.

STAGE 4 — TECHNICAL DESIGN

After sign-off, we translate the design into a detailed construction set. This includes fully annotated drawings, specifications, control philosophy, load schedules, and technical information needed for procurement and installation. Any bespoke elements undergo final detailing and mock-up approval before documents are issued for construction.

STAGE 5 — CONSTRUCTION

We remain involved until the project is complete, ensuring the design is delivered as intended. This stage includes site visits, coordination with contractors, review of installation, focusing, and final commissioning to set lighting scenes and performance levels. Our goal is simple: a built result that reflects the design vision with accuracy, quality and care.

STAGE 6 — HANDOVER & CLOSEOUT

Once installation is complete, we carry out a thorough review of the lighting on site, from final snagging and adjustments to fine-tuning the control system so each scene performs as intended. We ensure the space is handed over with clear documentation, system settings, and guidance for long-term operation. This final stage is where everything comes together: the design, the architecture and the atmosphere, the moment the project truly comes to life through light.
